A presumptive diagnosis of osteosclerosis or osteopetro-
sis is made on the basis of the presence of combined cytope-
nias together with increased osseous radiographic density
and can be confirmed by a core biopsy of the BM. Unfortu-
nately, no effective treatment is currently available.
