non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be used to reduce the inflammation and pain;
they are not always given straight away as the vet may wish to monitor the response to
the antibiotics, to help confirm the diagnosis
• general supportive nursing care should be given
• specific treatment will be given to horses with anterior uveitis.
