DIAGNOSIS
The diagnosis is made on the clinical signs. Occasionally an X-ray is needed to rule out the
possibility of an underlying fracture or other cause of facial swelling. A dental examination
should be performed.
TREATMENT
• Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication may help to settle the condition.
