FRACTURES OF THE ILIAL SHAFT
Fractures of the ilial shaft occur following falls or in response to the stresses of fast exercise.
The signs are:
• very severe lameness; the horse is often unable to bear any weight on the limb, especially
if the fracture passes through the hip joint
