        If  there  is  no  response  to  bronchodilators  then  inflammatory  changes  are  involved  and
        corticosteroids are often prescribed.



        CORTICOSTEROIDS

        Corticosteroids are the drug of choice for reducing inflammation in the lungs of horses with
        RAO. They can be administered by injection, orally or by inhalation. A horse with severe

        disease needs the treatment to be given by injection or orally to start with as they are unable
