The tricuspid and mitral valves are sometimes known as the right and left atrioventriular
(AV) valves.
3 The aortic valve is situated inside the aorta where it leaves the left ventricle.
4 The pulmonary valve is located at the origin of the pulmonary artery where it leaves the
right ventricle.
