PROGNOSIS
The prognosis is good providing the cause of the blood loss is eliminated.
Chronic lethargy syndrome
There is a well-recognized syndrome that is frequently diagnosed when competition horses
that look well and have a good appetite perform in a disappointing manner. Blood tests show
a persistently low white cell count despite a programme of rest, vitamin supplements and
conventional veterinary therapy.
