Regular verbs have the same form for all persons:

Spelling:
a) Verbs ending in E add only D
I love: I loved
b) Verbs ending in Y change to IED
I try: I tried
c) Most verbs ending in a single vowel + single consonant change to single vowel +
double consonant
I travel: I travelled
We stop: We stopped
PAST SIMPLE: POSITIVE IRREGULAR VERBS
Irregular verbs have the same form for all persons:
Subject Past simple
I WENT
HE
SHE
IT
WE
YOU
THERE
Irregular verbs are irregular in the past simple in the positive only.Remember to use the
infinitive withoutED for questions and negatives:
Go/Went
Sit/Sat
Write/Wrote
