TWINLOCUST
Farms
After the sale of their farm outside of the GTA, the Cook Family purchased land in Clearwater Township and established their new homestead
with a little of the original farm and a whole lot of new dairy facility.
This past November, Sunnidale, Ontario was host to one Bryan and Julie Cook & Family
of the largest dairy open houses the Township has seen. Sunnidale, Ontario
Bryan and Julie Cook, recent new residents to Clearview
Township, opened the doors to their community to
celebrate the launching of their new dairy operation.
In the summer of 2015, the Cook Family working with HFH
Inc., and Stonecrest Engineering commenced planning
on their new dairy facility at the farm the Cook family
purchased to relocate from the GTA area.
With ground breaking a year later in August 2016,
construction quickly progressed with the facility in
operation by the Spring of 2017.
The impressive, newly constructed dairy operation
includes an 83,600 square foot free stall dairy facility
complete with an attached heifer barn, calf facility,
feed kitchen, milkhouse and office. Also constructed
with the dairy barn was a 24,000 square foot shop with
an incorporated wash bay, a 16,000 square foot hay/
commodity storage, a multi-bay bunker silo, a liquid
manure storage tank and a 2,160 square foot timberframe
barn moved from the original farmstead and fully restored.
The dairy facility houses four DeLaval VMS robots with
observation rooms above, Trioliet Automated Feed System
and JHAgro Automated Bedding System, all to help to
optimize milk production and overall facility operation.
Twinlocust Farms provided a well-rounded dairy operation
design Stonecrest was pleased to be a part of. We wish the
Cooks much success with their new facility and in their
new community.
