YEAR IN REVIEW
As another year comes to a close, we reflect on having been a part of so many projects over the years.
We look forward to the continued progress in farm business operations and equipment advancement to
help Farm Owners make their operation support their growing business.
We have seen a lot of projects through to completion this
year and have been happy to be part of not only the permit
and construction process, but in the preliminary planning
process as well. With advancements in dairy equipment
and increased regulations and guidelines not only for manure management,
but for the poultry and livestock industry, we have seen a number of changes
ripple into the project planning and building design.
Early 2017, had already ushered in dozens of new dairy projects and expansions
on existing dairy operations. Handling the majority of dairy planning, our
Senior Dairy Designer, Robert Pol, helped our dairy farmers work through
their facility layout planning to get an end result that worked for their dairy
operation.
We saw the majority of facilities incorporating milking robots as well as some
rotary parlours and traditional parlours. There also
seemed to be a slight increase in the amount of dairy
farmers making the transition from tie stalls to free
stall robotic barns.
Again this year saw a number of OMAFRA and
MOE reviews of dairy operations and the need for
engineering for your manure transfer system and
nutrient management storage. With increasing
environmental awareness, manure transfer systems,
including flush transfer systems handling washwater,
