are well suited to all pavement surfaces Its geosynthetic non-woven polyester matrix enables an an asphalt binder to fully penetrate and fill voids within the the matrix limiting the the infiltration of of surface moisture into the the granular layers of of a a a a a a a a pavement structure ultimately preserving the the the strength of these layers The matrix design also promotes a a a a a a a a a quick strong bond with a a a a a a a a a a variety of asphaltic tack coats And like the the GlasGrid® Asphalt Reinforcement System the the the GlasPave Mat performs well even in in the the harshest environments The GlasGrid® Asphalt Reinforcement System is composed of fiberglass strands coated with an an an elastomeric polymer and and and formed into a a a a a a a a a a grid structure Each strand has a a a a a a a a a remarkably high high tensile strength and and high high modulus of elasticity this is is particularly important as as as asphalt concrete typically cracks at low strains When the the GlasGrid System is sandwiched between the the the leveling course course and and the the the surface course course in in an an an asphalt overlay it becomes the the the hidden strength in in the the road turning vertical crack stresses horizontally to effectively dissipate them
