( much ) the noun contained there in will always be singular
( many ) to find out the number of types of objects that can be
counted

Ex :
Much : how much does a kilo of apples cost ?
How much is a kilogram of cucumber ?

Many : how many glasses did you buy ?
I bought a lot of glasses

Dinda : Excuse me, do you happen to sell bananas here?
vegetable : Yes, we do sell bananas here. How much do you
seller need?
Dinda : How much is a kilogram of bananas?
vegetable : A kilogram of bananas would be twenty five
seller thousand rupiah, Ma’am.
Dinda : ohh I see, thank you ma’am
vegetable : you’re welcome
