Rollin Pickford is one the artists I wanted to be part of my store gallery. The quality of his watercolor work is of course, very good . . . his lifetime as an artist is testament to that.
More than that, to me, it was his sensibility to the valley we are both intrinsically a part. Each of our families were early set- tlers in the mid 1800’s. His paintings like my photographs express a love for this wild yet agrarian environment.
We also shared an affinity for the central coast of California, also expressed in our art. The last time I spoke with Rollin was along the walkway above Carmel beach. I felt honored to have known him.
