      RETIREMENT & INDEPENDENT LIVING
Offer freedom from the care and maintenance required of home ownership. These
communities often offer physical accommodations and amenities specifically designed for
older adults. Some guarantee affordability through subsidies, may provide recreational
activities but generally offer no assistive care.

      ASSISTED LIVING
Assisted living facilities (ALFs) are residential care facilities that provide housing, meals,
personal care and supportive services to older persons and disabled adults who are unable
      to live independently.
      ALZHEIMER’S & MEMORY CARE
      MEMORY CARE / ALZHEIMER’S / DEMENTIA CARE
Programs specifically dedicated to taking care of clients needing memory care for
cognitive impairments, dementia or Alzheimer’s. There are residential programs, outpatient,
day care programs, educational and family support services available in most communities.
The services will usually include activities and events that cater to the needs of memory
      care clients.
      SKILLED NURSING & REHABILITATION
A skilled nursing facility provides nursing, personal, custodial, and rehabilitative care.
Skilled nursing facilities, sometimes called nursing homes, are freestanding, which means
they are not part of a hospital. Skilled nursing facilities are licensed and surveyed by the
      State of Florida.
      HOME CARE SERVICES
      HOMEMAKER COMPANION CARE
Provides services to include companionship and non-medical assistance with activities of
daily living such as meal prep, light housekeeping, shopping, errands and more.
      HOME HEALTH AGENCY
Provides licensed health care services. The services vary but may include
nursing care, physical and speech therapy, wound care, infusion, social work
      services, medicine management and more.
      NURSE REGISTRY
A nurse registry acts as employment agency between an individual patient and nurses,
nursing assistants, home health aides, companions and homemakers for services in the
patient's home. Nurse registries also provide temporary staff for nursing homes, hospitals,
and other businesses. Nurse registries are licensed and surveyed by the State of Florida.
      AGING LIFE CARE PROFESSIONALS
Aging Life Care/Geriatric Care Management is a holistic, client-centered approach to caring
for older adults or others facing ongoing health challenges.
