            CONVENTIONAL & SENIOR APARTMENTS
Offer freedom from the care and maintenance required of home ownership.
These communities often offer physical accommodations and amenities
specifically designed for older adults. Some guarantee
affordability through subsidies, may provide recreational activities but gen-
            erally offer no assistive care.

            ACTIVE ADULT
A more compact, low maintenance residential environment, often de-
signed around a convenient one-level floor plan with aging in place fea-
tures. May offer easy access to leisure and recreational activities. Gener-
ally no assistive care is provided.

            INDEPENDENT LIVING
A variation on the themes above and often with some type of recreational,
social and or group activity program. More of a structured environment
but still no substantial access to assistive care.
