COMPANION CARE
Generally providing companionship and non-medical assistance with daily living
such as bathing, dressing, meal prep, light housekeeping, errands and shopping.
LICENSED HOME HEALTH CARE
Offering licensed health care services and may also include those above.
Services vary but may include physical and speech therapies, wound care,
infusion and medication management.
HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE
Emphasizing quality of life, relieving pain and managing emotional and spiritual
issues for a life limiting and or non-responsive illness. Services can be offered
simultaneously and/or from a home based directive as well.
Johnsie Douglas, M.Ed, LPC, CDP
Johnsie Douglas is a Licensed Professional Counselor and
the Director of Community Outreach and Client Services for
Right at Home In-Home Care. She holds an undergraduate degree from UNC at
Wilmington in Health Education and a Master of Education in counseling from
North Carolina State University. She has worked with geriatric patients and
their families since 1989 as a geriatric therapist. Through her current role, Johnsie provides
home supervisory visits as part of The Joint Commission regulations, and assists families with
overcoming obstacles in caring for their loved ones. Johnsie provides memory screenings and
trainings for assisted living and memory care facilities in our area. As a permanent sponsor by
the SC Licensure Board for Counselors, she also provides continuing education units to social
workers and counselors.
Her mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia, so she has lived it on a personal level as
well as professionally. She is a Dementia Dialogues Train the Trainer, and just recently earned her
certification from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. Her passion is sharing
resources in the community that assist in caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
