Relocation
Assistance &
Placement Services
HOW IT WORKS
Placement companies have agreements with Independent, Assisted Living and
Memory Care Communities to professionally represent them to the public seek-
ing services. They are often selective so look for a company who represents
100’s of facilities/properties. The placement counselor/advisor will assess your
situation and help to narrow down the list of good “candidate” communities
tailored to your needs. They should also be able to connect you with other
resources as needed. The service is free to the “consumer” or “client” because
the property you choose compensates the placement company directly. You
should choose one person/ company that you feel comfortable working with
throughout this process.
WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT
Personalized service and the right amount of guidance. Some cases can be
handled with phone calls or emails, but most often you will have a “face to
face” visit and personally escorted tours. The assessment of health, financial,
location and personal preferences will help map out the course. Whatever your
circumstance, you should feel comfortable that you are working with someone
who has clear knowledge by providing options, information and support.
YOU SHOULD KNOW
There are many businesses that advertise free placement services in Florida. These
are privately owned and operated businesses that are not regulated or licensed
by any governing agency. Relocating is often stressful, so be selective in choosing
the representative that will assist you with this important decision. There are also
many businesses providing additional relocation assistance like packing, shipping,
sorting, property preparation for auction or sale and much more.
