FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. CAN THE PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SYSTEM BE USED ON ALL HAIR TYPES? Yes. The PLATIBLANC ADVANCED system can be used on any hair type to lighten the colour. It is important to
conduct a thorough diagnosis on the hair in order to select the appropriate PLATIBLANC ADVANCED product and the correct strength of activator to use.
2. CAN PLATIBLANC ADVANCED CONTROLLED BLOND BE MIXED WITH A CONVENTIONAL HAIR DYE IN THE SAME BOWL? No. The chemical composition of each product is
different so they should never be mixed in the same bowl. However, hair dyes can be applied on top of PLATIBLANC ADVANCED CONTROLLED BLOND after the required exposure time. Follow this
guideline: apply PLATIBLANC ADVANCED CONTROLLED BLOND, leave it on for the recommended exposure time, remove the excess product and apply the selected hair dye. The final effect will be a
lightened base with a sharper, more defined colour result.
3. CAN PLATIBLANC ADVANCED CONTROLLED BLOND BE MIXED WITH ANOTHER LIGHTENING PRODUCT? No. In order to double the lightening power in the same exposure time,
PLATIBLANC ADVANCED CONTROLLED BLOND must ONLY be mixed with PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SILKY BLOND in the following proportions: 30 g treatment oil (Phase 1) + 60 g activator
(Phase 2) + 10 g PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SILKY BLOND bleaching powder.
4. CAN PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SILKY BLOND AND PLATIBLANC ADVANCED EXTREME BLOND BE MIXED IF NECESSARY? We do not recommend mixing these bleaching products
due to their different contents of persulphates and alkalising agents. Additionally, their different densities mean that the mixing proportions would not be accurate, leading to an unpredictable result on the hair.
5. CAN A HAIR DYE BE APPLIED DIRECTLY ON PLATIBLANC ADVANCED CONTROLLED BLOND + PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SILKY BLOND? No. Whenever PLATIBLANC
ADVANCED CONTROLLED BLOND is mixed with bleaching powder, it must be removed by washing the hair with TREAT NATURTECH SENSI DERMO SHAMPOO before applying the desired colour.
6. CAN A LIGHTENING SERVICE BE DONE ON FRESHLY-WASHED HAIR? No. A clean or freshly-washed scalp is more likely to be sensitive to this kind of product.

7. WHERE SHOULD THE APPLICATION START WHEN LIGHTENING THE ROOTS? The application must start on the darkest areas, or areas in which the hair fibre is the most resistant.
8. WHAT % ACTIVATING CREAM SHOULD BE USED WITH EACH OF THE PLATIBLANC ADVANCED PRODUCTS? Use the activators recommended in the instruction leaflets for each
product. Always take into account the results of the diagnosis on the scalp and hair fibre. We do not recommend using an activating cream of more than 6% on the scalp or root area.

9. CAN ANY TECHNIQUE AND TOOL BE USED WITH THE PLATIBLANC ADVANCED RANGE? Yes, any technique can be used with any of the PLATIBLANC ADVANCED products. Different
lightening results will be obtained depending on the product selected, the exposure time and the strength (%) of the activator. Any type of tool can be used, as long as it is not metallic.

10. CAN PLATIBLANC ADVANCED CONTROLLED BLOND BE MIXED WITH PLATIBLANC ADVANCED PRECISE BLOND? This is not advisable. PLATIBLANC ADVANCED
CONTROLLED BLOND is formulated to be mixed with PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SILKY BLOND when necessary, in order to obtain a mixture with an optimal pH and percentage of persulphates and
peroxide to achieve controlled lightening.

11. HOW CAN I ACHIEVE MAXIMUM LIFT WITHOUT DAMAGING THE HAIR FIBRE? An optimal lightening result is achieved by conducting a thorough diagnosis on the hair, selecting the most
appropriate PLATIBLANC ADVANCED product and activating cream, mixing them correctly, applying the product generously and always respecting the recommended exposure times.

12. CAN SILAPLEX BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SYSTEM? Yes, we recommend applying SILAPLEX in technical services, and particularly on sensitised hair.
Add SILAPLEX 1 to the mix, apply SILAPLEX 2 at the end of the technical service and SILAPLEX 3 should be used to maintain results at home. SILAPLEX should also be applied in toning and colour services.

13. CAN THE PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SYSTEM BE APPLIED ON HAIR THAT HAS BEEN TREATED WITH CHAMOMILE RINSES OR OTHER PLANT-BASED AND METALLIC
DYES? This is not advisable, as the action of these colouring agents on the hair in an oxidising medium is unpredictable, which could lead to undesired colour reflexes or even hair breakage. If the professional
decides to go ahead with the lightening service, it would be advisable to undertake a strand test beforehand.

14. WHICH SHAMPOO IS RECOMMENDED FOR LIGHTENING HAIR? Montibello recommends TREAT NATURTECH MÈCHES LIGHT-UP SHAMPOO to correct and neutralise undesired brassy
tones and care for the bleached hair fibre.
15. CAN HAIR BE LIGHTENED OR HIGHLIGHTED AFTER A PERM OR STRAIGHTENING SERVICE? We do not recommend this. Hair that has been chemically permed or straightened should be
allowed to “rest” for a minimum of 7 days before undergoing a lightening service.
16. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY CLIENT FEELS SOME DISCOMFORT? If the discomfort continues for more than a few minutes, remove the product by rinsing the hair thoroughly in cold water before
washing it with TREAT NATURTECH SENSI DERMO SHAMPOO. Then, finish by applying TREAT NATURTECH SENSI DERMO TREATMENT FLUID on the affected areas of the scalp.
17. CAN PLATIBLANC ADVANCED PRODUCE AN ALLERGIC REACTION DURING THE LIGHTENING SERVICE? As with any other chemical product, and although it is very rare, PLATIBLANC
ADVANCED may produce an allergic reaction in some clients. We therefore strongly recommend a patch test be done on the client 48 hours before the service.

18. WHAT AGE MUST THE CLIENT BE TO BOOK A PLATIBLANC ADVANCED SERVICE? This product is not intended for use on anyone under the age of 16.
19. CAN PLATIBLANC ADVANCED BE USED TO LIGHTEN HAIR ON THE ARMS OR LEGS? We do not recommend its use for this purpose. Specific products are available for these areas.
