1. Well-defined Objectives
A well-defined objectives is a good motivating force for employees to exert
efforts or make actions towards achieving or accomplishing something in line
with the university and college’ goals. The University Vision, Mission, Goals and

Objectives were amended last 2018 upon the Oath of Office of the 2 University
President, Dr. Eva Marie C. Dugyon. The revised VMGO incorporates more
detailed research objectives specifically on Goal 2 – Strong research leadership
and culture with the following objectives;
1. To establish a strong brand and strengthen image building of IFSU as
a research leader;
➢ IFSU as the lone HEI in the province improves itself based on
the facts gathered through research-based results that makes
what it is now. Whereas it uses research to improve the lives of
Ifugaos as well as develop products and ideologies practices for
the society.
2. To intensify conduct of research and dissemination of RD outputs;
➢ To help improves society, research shall be conducted, thus
making IFSU as an avenue in proposing and enacting
researches that can cater the needs and innovates the practices
done not just in the province but globally.
3. To intensify conservation of the rich cultural heritage
➢ Researches in IFSU not just give importance to agriculture,
education and others, but it also emphasizes the importance of
our heritage when it comes to research. As a diverse community
we are opt to expound the knowledge we have to our roots from
the ancestral domains to their practices and beliefs which is
rediscover through research.
Furthermore, below is an excerpt from Part 3 of the IFSU Code (updated
August 2016), specifically on page 106, discussing about Research and
Development Goals and Objectives as follows;
1.1.1.1. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
The Research and Development functions of the University are basically
geared towards countryside development. They are designed to facilitate
the development of rural community and agricultural farming practices
through the generation, verification and adaptation of appropriate
technologies to increase agro-industrial productivity, as well as to seek for
new knowledge and alternatives for the maintenance of a balance
ecosystem and the improvement of professional services in support of the
IFSU Development Plan. Within the limits of its financial, human and
material resources, research programs shall be focused in the attainment
of the following objectives:
1.1.1.1.1. Focus conduct of researches on commodity programs
consistent with regional and national goals specifically on Poverty
Alleviation & Food Security, Global Competitiveness, Frontier and Cutting
Edge Science, Sustainable Development and Support to Allied Services;
