Instrumental Music’ was conducted by the Music Dept of our college on 17 and 18 March 2017. Artists

of national repute interacted with the participants. Since Vocal and Instrumental Music are incomplete
without each other and knowledge of both is essential in order to be a successful musician, the objective of
the workshop was to deliberate upon the interrelation between the two and to apprise the participants of the
technical terms common to both forms of music. , Dr.Nivedita Singh, Music Department, Punjabi University,
Patiala underlined the interdependence of vocal and instrumental music. Thereafter, she conducted practical
sessions to provide a better perspective to the participants. Sh.Jagdeep Bedi, a renowned Delhi-based Sitar and
Sur Bahar Artist shared valuable insights with the participants about various aspects of Vocal and Instrumental
music during enlightening practical sessions. Dr.Pankaj Mala Sharma, Coordinator, Music Department, PU
delivered the valedictory address.
