Evening Explorations at the AIC
Night Hike
Friday July 22nd 8:00 pm
Join us for an early evening exploration of the AIC trails. This guided
walk will focus on the unique adaptations of nocturnal animals. If
we’re lucky, we might even hear an owl. Headlamps will be provided.

Moth Night
Wednesday July 28th 8:30 pm
Celebrate National Moth Week (July 23-31) by helping us catalog
some of our local moth species. There will be stations set up near the
parking lot of the AIC and along the trail system, where different
lighting and collection techniques will be used to capture and photo-
graph moths. Learn about the diversity of our local moth population
by stopping by between dusk (~8:30) and 10:30 pm. Rain date is July
28.
Artist Reception

Friday July 29 5:00 pm
Our 2022 Artist in Residence, Shannon Klotz, will soon be completing
her summer residency. Join us for some light refreshments as you
view the body of work that resulted from her 4 weeks on the New-
comb Campus. A brief presentation by Shannon at 5:30 will be fol-
lowed by an opportunity for discussion with the artist.
Early Evening Paddle on Rich Lake
Friday August 5th 8:00 pm
Plan on 2 hours of easy paddling as you learn about lake ecology and
the human history of Rich Lake. Meet at the Rich Lake Boat Access
site and paddle on this beautiful 342 acre lake. Bring your own ca-
noe/kayak, or rent one of our canoes ($10/canoe). Email aic@esf.edu
