Groups
Year Group U3-U6
Cost FREE
Students can take part in a variety of additional smaller groups, including Saxophone Quartets, Jazz and Pop Bands, oboe Group, Clarinet Ensemble, Harp Ensemble, mixed woodwind. These are usually formed at the recommendation of our instrumental teachers, but students are welcome to speak to the Director of Music with ideas for new groups.

The Headingtones prepare a wide variety of music with a focus on singing technique. Repertoire includes everything from pop arrangements through to sacred music. It is compulsory for all singing students from Upper 3 to Upper 4, but other singers are welcome to join too.
headinGton strinG quartets

Headington offers the opportunity for many of our string players to form a quartet, with the chance to perform in lunchtime concerts and during Celebration Weeks. The string teachers and Head of Strings will invite students to form an ensemble.Timings vary due to concert dates.
music technoloGY cluB

Music Technology Club is for those who have an interest in the production side of popular music and want to get to know how to use the Recording Studio, create music using software or cut and edit existing music to form something new. If you are considering Music Technology at A Level, then this is an excellent way to get a taster for what is involved but it is open to anyone with an interest in the area.

Music Theory Club is a drop-in session for girls wishing to study Grade 5 Theory or just wishing to strengthen their musical knowledge. Girls requiring more specialist training may opt for one-to-one tuition, charged to parents.

Performing Arts - music
