Boarding at Headington
Headington School has always been a boarding school and almost a third of the school – around 250 girls - board with us today.
The four boarding houses provide the girls with a ‘home from home’ where, supported by a team of highly experienced staff, they learn to develop into mature and independent young people.
Many of our boarders come from the UK, choosing to make full use of the facilities and opportunities that a boarding education at Headington offers. We are also very proud of our strong international boarding community, made up of more than 30 nationalities from all over the world. The rich cultural heritage and global perspective that these girls bring to the school help to enrich the experience of all the girls, broadening horizons and breaking down barriers.
Lifelong friendships are made here and a daily routine of academic work and extra-curricular activities encourages
the girls to develop a healthy balance
between work and play. Happy girls achieve
great things and your daughter’s happiness and wellbeing will help her to reach her potential both inside and outside the classroom. Each boarding house has a strong team of caring staff who understand that each girl’s needs are different.
Girls can choose between full boarding or weekly boarding at Headington, giving families flexibility to choose the option that works best for them.
Day girls and boarders work and play together closely, both during the school day and during after school activities and events. Many older day girls opt to board during their final years with us, making full use of the facilities and study environment as the first steps towards university life.
