when we see him from behind, we will already know how his state of mind is. I was surprised—how would we know, without talking to him?
Yes, this is true. The more we contemplate our state of mind, the more we practice dhamma, the clearer we can see our mind, the more resplendent our mind is. We should practice this a lot—and consistently have an ambiance as support. This is the way to experience the mind within the mind. Everyone have their own personal ambiance. How their state of mind is will be re ected in the ambiance around them. We can see this easily—this is called “the ambiance of the state of mind”. The more re ned our mind is, the easier we can experience externalities. Therefore, this way of practicing dhamma requires us to consistently contemplate the state of mind. We will become a more re ned person.
I have digressed. The key thing is to relate our natural conditions correctly—do not forget. For some practitioners, after they have related their natural conditions, then I explained things to them. But, after I have  nished, they have already forgotten their dhamma homework. Understand, and then forget. “What did Ajarn ask me to do just now?” Then, they start to relate other things. This happens quite a lot. Do not think that it is not us—think that it is us, so that we will be more careful and review more. But, some practitioners are not like this. Therefore,
