VILLAGE IDIOTS CYCLING CLUB
The Village Idiots Cycling Club was founded in 2007 by a small group of cyclists who lived in and around The Village at Castle Pines and who loved to ride, socialize and give back to the community. Over the years, we have ridden tens of thousands of miles, shared countless experiences and stories, and raised more than $30,000 for our charity partners. Today our members come primarily from communities across Douglas County but we welcome anyone who has an interest in joining us.
Our tagline is “Pedal. Play. Purpose.” This reflects the club’s equal focus on cycling, socializing, and community support. Regularly scheduled rides include road,
paved trail and gravel rides. In addition to weekly local rides, the Club hosts weekend out-of-town rides in other parts of the state and week-long rides in other parts of the country in conjunction with guided tour companies.
The club’s social events include after-ride get togethers at local restaurants, coffee shops and breweries, as well as larger events like our annual jersey reveal party in the spring and our ever popular end of season brunch. Our community involvement includes financial and volunteer support for a local charity that is chosen each year. Each year we also run two roadside cleanup events along a stretch of S. Havana St. and a used bike drive in conjunction with HopeCycle. For additional information, visit www. VillageIdiotsCyclingClub.org or email villageidiotscyclingclub@gmail.com.
