Pretech products have developed a great reputation amongst OEM boat builders
in New Zealand for the reliability and performance of their cable steering systems.
We have chosen two products from their range for this market. The 3000 Gen II
system is the workhorse, suitable for a wide range of boats, generally up to
approximately 7.5 metres. The ZTS system is designed to substantially
minimise feedback through the cable, improving the driving experience and
reducing fatigue caused by fighting the helm.
Application Guide - all models
• Mechanical rotary steering non-power assisted outboard engine up to V4
• Standard 3/4" tapered shaft
• Approximately 3.8 turning revolutions from lock to lock
• Maximum steering wheel size - 400mm diameter
• Minimum steering cable bend radius - 203mm
• Should not be used on boats equipped with engines that exceed the
maximum horse power rating of the boat
• Bolt-in upgrade from 3000 Gen II to ZTS system
