Selecting the correct cable
length...

When replacing an existing cable, check for a part number or length stamped ENGINE CONTROLS
on the outer jacket. Alternatively you will need to measure the existing cable

and note any new fittings that may be required.
If you are installing a cable in a new installation, plan the route carefully.
Always use the shortest practical route with the least bends. To determine the
length simply measure the distance from control unit to the connection point
on the motor or device. For outboard cables add an extra 3'. Round the total up
to the nearest whole foot and order that length cable. For stern drives or other
devices (such as remote back up controls) it should only be necessary to round

up to the nearest whole foot.
