Project 365
Working anywhere from any device
We are also introducing a new Cloud-based technology with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10 to ensure a more accessible, secure and compliant email service for all staff. The pilot starts with Crisis Team, Human Resources, iCope, Pharmacy and Substance Misuse Service before we roll it out across the Trust.
Office 365 supports agile working. It allows you to work on your cloud files from any Web browser on an Internet- connected computer. You’ll have access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneDrive directly from your smartphone or tablet while you’re on the move!
We’ll be asking staff, taking part in the pilot, how they, and the service users, are benefiting from the new digital technology.
New Window of opportunity
We are rolling out Windows 10, across five pilot sites, in February and March.
Who are the five pilot sites?
Crisis Team, Human Resources, iCope, Pharmacy and Substance Misuse Service
What is Windows 10?
Windows is the name for Microsoft’s operating system. Currently you are using Windows 7, now we are migrating to Windows 10.
How does Windows 10 differ from Windows 7?
There are many differences, but one that will affect you is that you can NOT save any documents or files to your desktop – they have to be filed in your personal drive e.g H drive.
Do I need to do anything before migration takes place?
Yes. IT will give you plenty of notice when it is your time to migrate to Windows 10, but there is something very important you can do now. Start clearing any files and documents sat on your desktop and move them to your personal drive. On the day of migration, after 17.00 / 5pm, any documents left on the C drive and desktop will automatically be deleted and IT will not be able to recover them for you.
Cyber security
In December 2019, IT, working alongside Bulletproof, was awarded the Cyber Essentials certificate.
Cyber Essentials is a UK government scheme that sets out 5 basic security controls to protect organisations against around 80% of common internet cyber-attacks.
The certification lets our service users and supply chain know we have considered security controls and are working in a safe and secure environment.
By March 2020 we will have achieved Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+). This will help us to guard against the most common cyber threats and will demonstrate our commitment to cyber security.
