Purpose

Determine actual condition of existing structures within
zone of influence, which represents a baseline for
comparison during and after construction

Have a detailed description of any deficiency like crack,
settlement,water seepage, degradation of concrete, spalling,
distortion etc. with photographs and notes

Determine and identify locations where instruments such as
crack gages, tilt plates, settlement points and prisms targets
could be installed in order to monitor the slightest change in
any of the critical parameters during construction progress

Quickly resolve arguments and minimize valuable
money and time lost in arguing about building damage.
Avoid potential legal fees incurred to address any building
damage claim

To check after construction that structures have not been
adversely aected by the construction activity
