It might be rare to earn 18 percent per year.
I would answer that you might do worse or better.
But if you are going to dream, why not dream big.
Nobody can know the future with certainty
decades from now. But you might do even better
than that. And you certainly won’t do that well if
you spend the gift or don’t try to invest for long-
term gain.
But what if the gift were five times as big or
ten times as big? If nobody gives you gifts such as
that, what is stopping you from giving yourself that
gift? That’s right; nothing is stopping you. Do it.
Main point: A penny saved is a penny earned,
goes the saying. But it can become much much
more. John D Rockefeller was a saver. And his
savings helped him start his wildly successful
business. Giant fortunes grow from small
beginnings.
