Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
being church together
Sometimes people wonder why KOG is connected to the larger Church. Beyond the assistance that a large network provides in times of pastoral transition or emergency, our faith teaches that in Christ, none of us lives in isolation from others. We value being united in mission with other congregations, seminaries, and ministries because together we can accomplish more than we could do alone! As Paul once instructed, we rejoice with those who rejoice, and we weep with those who weep" (Romans 12:15).
King of Glory is one of 8,900 worshiping communities across the 50 states and in the Caribbean region that comprise the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. In 2022, the ELCA supported 131 missionary households, including 24 new missionaries, who served in 54 countries around the world.

  Food Pantry
KOG cares about making an impact beyond ourselves. In March, the Board of Directors authorized that a gift of $1,000 be given from KOG to support Peace Lutheran Church's food pantry, while also holding a large food drive for the West High food pantry.
 MT Synod
KOG sends 2-3 voting members each year to the Montana Synod Assembly. Over two days, the 123 congregations in Montana and N. Wyoming deliberate about how we can best be church together. This year's KOG representatives were Lance and Barb Brady.
  LPA Program
As part of the Montana Synod, KOG members have opportunities to grow in faith. The Lay Pastoral Associate (LPA) program is unique to the Montana Synod and is one way that the church is equipping people to serve. In June, Chad Blumhagen was recognized at the Assembly for completing the 2-year LPA program. Chad joins KOG members John Hanson and Dave Rye who have also completed the LPA program.
