Drawn from a desire to be encountered by God, the question, where is God, is one of the central theological questions of our time. We desire a concrete answer so we can express love, experience God's love, and be in the very presence of God.
The Christmas Gospel announces that God in Jesus Christ has entered the world! Our Lutheran conviction is that we will find God when we turn to our brothers and sisters, believing that God in Jesus is present with them. Martin Luther urged that we become "Christ's" to one another so all might experience the transforming love of God.
Inspired by the photo blog, “Humans of New York”, in this feature we turn to our brothers and sisters, seeking to celebrate the work of God among us. As the Apostle Paul says, “we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).
In each issue of
we will lift up stories about the people of KOG and wonder together about how Christ is made known. We invite you to look not for an individual's glory and grace, but for God's, for we proclaim that "it is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me" (Galatians 2:20).
