  Shortly after the plane touched down at Logan International Airport, the flight attendant extended a word of welcome through the speaker system. "If Billings is home to you," she said, "welcome home."
When people ask me where I'm from, I usually have to pause for a moment to think. Are they asking where I live now? Or are they interested in one of the eighteen previous addresses spanning seven states and two countries that I've had prior to the present? But when I heard the voice of the flight attendant that day, I felt relief. I was, indeed, coming home.
When visitors first interact with KOG's ministries they often share that they are looking for a church home. Usually this search is for something more than a place to worship, but it pays special attention to the actual experience of what it feels like to be among the body of Christ. Recognizing that each person's experience is unique, in this issue of
some of our members share what "home" means to them and reflect on how they have experienced welcome and belonging within this community
of faith.
Borrowing words from author Nadia Bolz-Weber, for me, I know I'm home when, "I relax, the way you do, when you know you're in the presence of those who are fond of you." It is our prayer that you feel this way in the presence of Christ - who indeed, loves you!

    Each person has a
deep, unconscious sense of what feels like home to them. Formed in one's earliest experiences, the term home is another way to describe what psychoanalyst Christopher Bollas calls the "unthought known."
