DAVE & LAILA NELSON PATH LED TO KOG 36 YEARS AGO
Dave and Laila Nelson met at the University of Minnesota and got married in September of 1964. For the next six years they moved based on Dave’s jobs (engineering) and whenever they moved they tried to find a church in town that worked for both of them. Dave’s background was with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and Laila was raised in the Church of Christ. They raised two children (Mark and Wendy) and moved to Billings in the Fall of 1986 (when Wendy - also a KOG member - was just a Junior at West High). In 1995-96 Dave served KOG as the president of the congregation. They’ve stayed members of KOG all of these years because they really like the people. “Christianity is the best way to live because of the loving community,” Dave says. ”I really enjoy the fellowship, the companionship of the people.”

Holly and Bob Newsome moved to Billings from Virginia in May 2020. They had decided to make the move the preceding December when they experienced the joy of Christmas at King of Glory coupled with the realization that they were missing a vital part of their grandchildren’s lives. As challenging as this transition was, Bob and Holly are confident it was God’s plan for them. "We were able to help with our grandchildren, especially during the time they attended virtual school," Bob shares, "but, the joy of being a part of their lives as well as our daughter and son-in-law’s, gives us much more than we provide." While they miss friends and family in Virginia (especially as winter arrives), they know they are now “home!”
