National Poison Prevention

Week 2019

National Poison Prevention Week occurs each year during the third full week of March. In 2019, this
was March 17-23.

Although there is a National Poison Prevention Week theme, the West Virginia Poison Center selects a
theme based on items of special importance in West Virginia.

For National Poison
Prevention Week the
WVPC focused on the
fact that all ages need
the poison center, not
just children. We
produced 3 new posters
focusing on teens and
seniors. The Community
Outreach Coordinator,
our volunteers, and our
community partners
provide as many
programs throughout the
state as possible during
the month of March.
