Meet the Team Guardian Place I & II
Jeff Kunitz is a Vice Chairman at CBRE Affordable Housing, where he primarily focuses on transaction
management, business development, and client service delivery. He works closely with the underwriting,
marketing, and debt and structured finance teams within CBRE Affordable Housing, as well as a network
of local professional brokers throughout the country, to provide owners and investors with clear
marketing and pricing strategies for the sale and acquisition of affordable housing properties. Mr. Kunitz
previously held the position of Senior Director at the Tax Credit Group of Marcus & Millichap – the first
and largest Section 42 brokerage team in the nation since its formation in 2001. Tax Credit Group was
Jeff Kunitz acquired by CBRE in 2015 and is now CBRE Affordable Housing. Prior to his work with the Tax Credit
Vice Chairman Group, Jeff served as Vice President of AIMCO Capital’s Midwest division, responsible for over 300 tax

Mr. Kunitz is a 30-year real estate veteran in the affordable housing arena, active in the closing of over
$14.1 billion dollars in affordable assets. Mr. Kunitz’s thorough understanding and unmatched experience
of the affordable housing space provides clients with the resources and support they need to navigate
the complexities of partnership interest sales, fee simple sales, and valuations. Mr. Kunitz’s hard work,
persistency, and focus have allowed him to develop strong relationships with affordable housing industry
leaders to maximize results for clients and achieve unparalleled success.
Michael Canori is a Vice President with the CBRE Affordable Housing. Michael specializes in the
valuation and disposition of Section 42, Section 8, and mixed income multifamily assets throughout the
United States where he has participated in the disposition of $3.4B in real estate value.
Prior to becoming an Advisor with the CBRE Affordable Housing, Mr. Canori completed valuations in
excess of $750 million. Michael has experience in all facets of affordable housing including federal and
state regulatory agencies, HUD, financial analysis, and various lenders across the country. Prior to this
role, Mr. Canori was an Associate for KPMG’s Consulting practice, where he specialized in the Financial
