Dieng is a three-hour drive away from Yogyakarta in the highlands of Java. It is
an isolated place, far enough away from the tourist trail that you do not get
the usual crowds. However, there are a lot of fun things to do in Dieng.
The plateau offers a mixture of nature, heritage, and tourism sites, namely
Kawah Sikidang and Dieng, Arjuna Temple. Further, there are some beautiful
lakes—Telaga Warna and Telaga Pengilon; hills, breathtaking scenery, also
refreshing tea and coffee in tea plantation Tambi. Dieng Plateau is at its best in
the morning before the mist and damp sets in, so try to arrive at the temples
early and bring warm clothes and waterproofs.
