PREFACE

English for Economic Development is a book dedicated to
Economic Development students to assist them in learning English.
This book attempts to highlight the way in responding to real

phenomena in the economic development context, especially in
responding to emails and relating them to English language
perspectives. Further, the book is designed using a case method as

the instructions in delivering the material.
The case method is a teaching method that encourages students
to analyze real cases, apply the concept to resolve the cases, provide

and present corresponding solutions to overcome the cases.
Therefore, the book is written to increase students’ understanding in

handling a real-life situation and integrate it using English language
competencies.
The writer is indebted to Lilia Indriani, M.Pd.; Rolisda Yoshinta,
M.Pd.; Dr. Farikah, M.Pd.; and Atsani Wulansari, M.Pd., who have

carefully and thoroughly evaluated the book. At last, the writer
realizes that the book is not as perfect as it is expected. Some of the

parts here and there still require improvement. Thus, suggestions
and constructive criticisms are needed for the betterment of this
book.
