photographs, and personal reflections that enrich our collective narrative. Whether through live gatherings in Ireland and North America,
virtual celebrations and lectures, or collaborative research projects, the spirit of connection and celebration has been palpable.

As we look ahead, the 70th anniversary serves not only as a moment of reflection but as a springboard for the future — inspiring us to
preserve our heritage, welcome new voices, and continue building a legacy worthy of the generations to come.

In this special 70th Anniversary edition, we reflect on the many commemorative events held throughout the year, while continuing our tradition
of sharing feature articles, insightful book reviews, and highlights from Irish communities around the globe.
Let’s continue to share the light of our legacy far and wide — and proudly uphold the OMS motto: Lasair romhainn go buadh — “Carry the
flame before us in victory!” May it guide us with purpose, pride, and unity.

Remember — whether united by lineage or by love, we are all O Mahonys. May the spirit of our 70th anniversary carry us boldly into the next
         seventy years and beyond!
         Sláinte!

It is with great sadness that we share that Pat (Paddy) O Mahony has recently died.

Originally from Inniscarra, County Cork, Ireland, Pat was a fraternal twin and brother to
                                         four brothers and two sisters.

An educator who told us many years ago that he worked his way through university studies
as a singer, he was immediately nicknamed, “Tenor Pat.” His voice was remarkable, his
pitch perfect, and his ability to recall hundreds of song lyrics nothing short of phenomenal.

As an educator and a school administrator, having been the principal of Newbridge College in Kildare for many years, Pat was also
a life-long learner who generously shared his passion for history and genealogy with others.

We knew Pat was very active in his community, and his contributions to The O Mahony Society were too many to count.
A dedicated and creative OMS Council member, he was always willing to make a call, send an email, write press releases, or
whatever it took to serve our clan. We will always be grateful.

We send our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to Pat’s beloved and devoted wife, Mary, their son Olan (Tracey),
daughter Hannah (Dave), grandchildren Airla, Éabha, Lola, and Poppy, and his extended family and friends.
May Pat rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him.
