        Fryer recognized with Lifetime Achievement Award


           Marie Fryer, former owner of Belles
        & Beaus Bridal and Formal Wear, was
        honored with the Lifetime Achievement
        Award at the Chamber’s annual Fall
        Meeting, October 17 at the Austin Coun-
        try Club.

           The award was established by the
        Chamber Board of Directors in 2002 as a
        means of raising awareness of the contri-
        butions of business leaders make to the
        community and our local economy.

           Nominees can be current or retired
        business owners or managers with 20 or
        more years of service. Consideration is
        given for business success, Chamber and
        community involvement, leadership and
        promotion of the business community.

           The award was presented by one of her former employees, now an ordained
        minister, Hilary Korynta.

           The main purpose of the Fall Meeting is to elect members to the Chamber’s
        Board of Directors. Seven directors were elected at the meeting:

           •  Dale Wicks, Quality Pork Processors, Inc.
           •  Scott Fox, Fox Electric & B&J Bar and Grill
           •  Lindsey Haney, The Style Lounge Salon
           •  Dan Marmsoler, Fire and Ice Comfort Specialists
           •  Joseph Bower, Wells Fargo Bank and Angry Hog    Brewery and Taproom.

           Newly elected directors take office in January.

        ACCESS Scholarship applications now



           Applications are now available for nearly $6,000 in cash
