Mr Paddy Doherty FCILT
President
Paddy holds an MSc in Transport and Operations and has recently retired as Chief Executive Officer of Dublin Bus, a role he took up in 2011. Paddy originally joined Dublin Bus in 1976 and began
his career as Assistant Engineer in the Traffic Engineers Department. Since then, he has held a number of senior positions in operations, business development and planning. Paddy is a long-time member of the CILT and is a previous winner of “The Innovator of the Year Award”.
Ms Helen Noble CMILT
Vice President
Helen Noble, LLB (Hons), LLM is a dual qualified Irish and English practising solicitor with over 22 years’ experience specialising in all areas of maritime and transport law. Helen holds a Master’s degree in International Commercial Law from Nottingham University and was called to the bar in England & Wales in 1994. Helen is the principal of Noble Shipping Law, Ireland’s only law firm that specialises exclusively in Shipping & Transport Law. Helen previously served on council in 2010 and was significantly involved in the redrafting of the governance handbook. She was re-elected to council in 2016. Helen is past president of the Irish Maritime Law Association for 2010 to 2014.
Mr Gerard O’Reilly CMILT
Finance Officer
Gerard is a Partner in Crowe Horwath Bastow Charleton, Chartered Accountants with 30 years of experience working with businesses, providing accounting, tax and advisory support. He has a particular interest in the logistics sector and has advised many companies on contract pricing, negotiation, improvement in efficiency as well as overall business improvement for companies of all sizes. He has provided courses to industry bodies. He advises hi-tech start-ups on various University campuses and is a member of the board of South Dublin Chamber as well as other voluntary roles in entrepreneurship and education.
Mr Tim Daly, MSc, FIMI, M Inst TA, FCILT
Education and Training Officer
Tim has over 30 years’ experience working in senior transport management positions both in Ireland and internationally. He is currently the Head of Training at Bus Eireann. Having an MSc in Transport and Logistics he has lectured in Transport Degree programmes in UK.
Mr Patrick Casey FCILT
Secretary to Council
Patrick J. M. Casey BA (Hons), MSc, is the Secretary of the National Council. He joined the Institute as an ordinary member in 1996. He was elected to the Eastern Section Committee in 1998 and was chairman from 2003 to 2004. While chairman, he was responsible for developing closer
links with the Royal Aeronautical Society, delivering a number of jointly presented papers. On becoming a member of the National Council in 2004 he was appointed to the position of Hon. Secretary; a position he still holds. He is a graduate with a BA (Hons) in Management from the Institute of Public Administration and holds an MSc in Aircraft Engineering Management from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bristol. He is currently the technical training manager in the Irish Air Corps.
