As for me, some people accept that I am a “felon”
for not forcing my 17-year-old to go back to her
abusive father.
Some cannot believe that it happened to me (and
to so many families around the world.) “You must
have done something bad.”
Cognitive dissonance is often present. It’s safer to
believe that I am a bad person, rather than that the
judicial system is corrupt. If it’s my fault, all is well
for them… it’s just me. If it’s a corrupt government
that is at fault… it’s a scary thought. Nobody is safe!
The court does not want to release the felony, and
it would cost a lot of money to hire an attorney to
right the wrong.

I did appeal, even to the 9 Circuit Court of
Appeals. They sent me a letter letting me know
they would refuse my motion BEFORE I even sent
it. How did they know?
I live with a mark on my criminal record, which
closes some doors, yet opens others.
I have become wiser. I don’t live with rose-colored
glasses any longer. I grew up in Switzerland, with
Pollyanna and Heidi as my heroes. I still see the
good, but now know there is the perverse as well.
