The vision includes building the firms collective sustainable design knowledge in an intentional,
thoughtful, and cumulative way--- working to adapt our design process slowly and permanently and
empowering all our staff to engage these topics daily.

In the coming year, the focus will be on data-driven design and following through with the commitment
the firm has made on the AIA 2030 Commitment. Specifically- building performance simulation,
cove.tool, and 2030 participation and reporting. In 2024, the plan includes continuing to advance
building performance and the 2030 commitment, as well as bring materials topics front and center such
as the importance of embodied carbon, and the impact of material selection on human, ecosystem, and
climate health. Then in 2025, the focus will shift to increasing staff credentials, while still gaining
improvements on previous topics rolled out.

The intention is to plan ahead three years at a time, all the while improving the collective knowledge of
the design staff with extensive and comprehensive internal education sessions. This strategy will be built
on year-by-year allowing the firm to slowly and thoughtfully redesign our process and product to include
building simulation and 2030 reporting, material accountability, and a deep bench of subject matter
experts within the topics of sustainability, resilience, and wellness. The roadmap will be updated annually
to continue to look forward 3 years at a time. Additional initiatives include working towards a firm
transformation by 2030 in which FGMA has a process understood and leveraged by all staff, on all
projects, replicated from region to region, that fully integrates sustainability, resiliency, and wellness into
our conversations, design process, workflow, and portfolio to deliver net-positive, restorative,
                regenerative buildings that transform communities.

We look forward to sharing further detail on the proposed roadmap in the coming months.
