Charlie Kearns joined FGMA in August, bringing a strong Texas network of
relationships in the Municipal arena. Charlie’s familiarity with the Dallas-Fort
Worth Metroplex helped us make the decision to open an office there and
broaden our Texas strategy. Charlie started out in fiber optics engineering,
was an early adopter of the Registered Communications Distribution
Designer certification, and has worked with architecture firms to incorporate
IT and communications technology in building design.
As the Austin office workload in the Municipal Practice began to grow last
fall, Ryan Campbell, a registered architect and friend of Jaime Palomo,
agreed to work with us on a temporary basis from his home in Boise, Idaho. A
few months later, we decided that we liked Ryan and offered him a full-time,
remote position. Luckily, he agreed. He has been working primarily on the
new Elgin (TX) Police Building and is now scheduled to assist on similar
public safety projects in Victoria and Temple.
In October we welcomed Kia Morris as our new Regional Marketing
Manager for Texas. She sits in the Austin office and has been getting up to
speed quickly, learning our practice areas and portfolios. We have also
benefitted from the ideas and expertise that she brings from her previous
positions at other design firms. Kia’s Buzz post with a blow-by-blow account
of our recent White Reindeer gift exchange is just a small sampling of her
creativity.
