My mother Rhonda is also an artist and together we have been selling our creations at local
markets for over twenty years. I am often approached by customers wanting me to create a
personal mandala for them….one of my more popular paintings are a mandala created for a
little boy called Banjo. He visited my home with his Mother to pick up another commission
and was fascinated with the fish in one of my saltwater aquariums…. a few weeks later I was
commissioned to create a painting for the little boy. I remember drawing the sea inspired

mandala while we were holidaying at Horseshoe Bay in Bowen, I snorkelled every morning
taking in the underwater paradise that is the Great Barrier Reef and then designed the
mandala in the afternoons. The painting includes anemones, clownfish, corals, butterfly fish,
crabs and starfish……I had to include some squawking seagulls hovering over the tiny
baitfish and a whale tail as well. The end result was “Banjos mandala”
