Where Painting Meets Stitch
A Collaboration between Friends!
WHALE SONG the Cover!
Ingrid Clare and Caroline Sharkey held a workshop
at the 2018 Urunga Coastal Retreat called ‘Painted
Flowers’ these 2 creatives have known each other
for a ton of years and decided to finally join creative
forces to host this collaborative workshop to share
their years of experience from their respective Art
practises. Ingrid paints and Caroline does textile
art… It was a huge success so they have now joined
forces again to collaborate on a quilt called ‘Whale
Song’ The quilt was entered into the 2019 Sydney
Quilt Show in the Collaboration section. We are very
Whale Song proud of this work and hope that everyone enjoyed
seeing the brush strokes, shades and layers, the
stitching textures and sheer raw edge applique!
Ingrid Clare has been an artist since childhood.
A life-changing trip to Africa in her 20’s revived
Ingrid’s love of painting and wildlife. Ten years on
and Ingrid, now living on the Mid North Coast
(Australia) has a blossoming, successful art career,
her own workshops and her own recognisable style.
Nature, flowers, animals, faces and patterns are her
passion. Emotive, colourful and joyful are the words
most often used to describe her work. Ingrid’s
An Ar t is t Collabora t ion specialties are acrylic painting, resin art, digital app
art and most recently oil painting. Ingrid aims to
create a connection with the viewer, and depict the
essence of nature and all living beings and believes If
we can see ourselves reflected in animals and
nature, we are more likely to defend and protect
them.
Ingrid has sold artwork at galleries, boutiques,
Caroline Sharkey charity auctions and art shows. Her current pieces
are now available via this website, her instagram page
@IngridClare and local markets. Ingrid also has her
