“The Conefower Shares her inspiration behind the cover...

Earlier this year I had to
                                                               art as well as well-known
go and buy some plants for
                                                               textile artist’s work. They
the garden as changes had and you can get some fabulous
been made and time to fill are small, 30 x 30 cm, we find
some spots with some colour them good to do as like a
and or flowers. Anyway high sample of some new or untried
on my list of the flowers I technique and I’ve been doing
love is the Coneflower these for the last few years
(Echinacea). I bought a and find it a bit of fun with
couple and just hoping if I no pressure other than a
get one flower this year that deadline. Anyway thought what
would be awesome. am I going to do this year?
Well in no time I could see Then I thought I’ll do my
the buds coming and first coneflower that I grew,
                starting to bloom. The YAY!
                excitement over something
like this is a little scary
but I could contain it! As
                the first flower was coming
into full bloom it was the
                new celebrity at our house
according to me and even my
                dogs were getting a touch
worried I think. I took lots
                of photos and was quite
                excited about new artworks
                coming from these in the
                future.

                Advancing a couple of weeks
                I received a message from
                Lisa Walton SAQA (Studio Art
                Quilters Association)
                President and friend asking/
                reminding me about doing an
                auction piece for SAQA’s
                auction later in the year.
                This is an online auction
                that happens yearly to raise
                funds for the association
