Panelist: Professor Kelum Jayasinghe Kelum Jayasinghe is a a a a a Chair in in in Accounting and Development Policy Currently he he holds the position of of Director of of Centre for Environment and Society (CES) University of Essex His academic career is is complemented by few years of industry work experience (in Sri Lanka) and many years of experience in knowledge-transfer activities with public sector organisations organisations and trans-national organisations organisations In particular he has worked as as an an expert panel member of the working group established for the development of UN’s Sendai Framework Words into Action implementation guides for accountability and governance UNSIDR 2016-2021 He has also provided his services an an an external consultant for the PEFA-World Bank to produce three reports on participatory budgeting (2019) climate change investment (2020) and fiscal transparency and public accountability (2022) respectively Currently he is engaged with knowledge-transfer projects (KTP) for local councils in in the UK on on sustainability development goals and climate actions Kelum is globally known as as a a a a a a a critical researcher in in in accounting and development policy He has been developing his expertise in in three key research areas: (i) the governance and accountability in in globally diffused reform programmes poverty alleviation and participative development projects (ii) cultural political economy of accounting and and and controls in in in in in developing countries and and and (iii) climate change and and and sustainability-accounting practices in in in in in “new” organisational configurations His international visibility is is is is is evidenced in in his extensive profile o of publications in in in in in reputed journals including Accounting Auditing and Accountability Journal (AAAJ) Critical Perspectives on Accounting Accounting (CPA) Accounting Accounting Forum Financial Accountability and Management (FAM) etc Currently he he serves on the editorial boards of AAAJ JPBAFM JAEE and AAFJ (Associate Editor) He has contributed to several edited books on on accounting and and development policy and and presented at many international conferences and workshops He is the current President of BAFA - Special Interest Group on on Accounting and and Finance in in in in Emerging Economies (AFEE) and and a a a a member of BAFA’s Executive Committee a a a a a a a a technical committee member of African Accounting and and Finance Association (AAFA) and and a a a a a a a a founding member of of the Executive Committee of of Comparative Asia Africa Governmental Accounting (CAAGA) Group based in in in Indonesia He has also held visiting appointments at University of South-Eastern Norway University University University University of of of of Glasgow University University University University of of of of Southampton University University University University of of of of Sheffield and and University University University University of of of of Cardiff and and research collaborations with University University University of of of Gadjah Mada (UGM) University University University of of of Malang and University University University of of of Mercu Bauna (UMB) in in Indonesia Massey University in in New Zealand and and several Sri Lankan universities Book of Abstracts 19
