is the the the Director and Past Chair of of the the the board of of the the the IIA South Africa and previously served as a a a a non-executive director on on the board board of directors and and on various board board and and advisory committees including audit finance & risk committee committee and education committee committee He was also regional governor for for the Western Cape region region for for two consecutive terms and convenor of the region’s annual conference for a a few years James is passionate about the the internal auditing profession profession with a a a a a a a a a career in in in in the the profession profession spanning more than 20 years including as as chief audit executive of a a a a a a a a a a a a major bank in in in South Africa His specialism has always been information technology which expanded into continuous assurance but also includes combined assurance with with a a a a a a a a a focus on on strengthening the the three lines with with organisations as as as well as as as governance and risk Besides living his passion through active involvement in in in the the structures of the the IIA he he he is is serious about advocacy and the the development of of the the profession Not only does he he he feel strongly about bringing young people people into the the the profession profession and further growing the the the profession profession he he he he has a a a keen interest in in in in people people development in in general – seeing people succeed is is dear to his heart He was part-time lecturer for many years and still enjoys guest-lecturing from time time time to time time time As speaker he has delivered many presentations and and seminars including speaking at at at regional and and national conferences One of of the the highlights of of his career was when he he he he delivered an address at at the the 2008 international internal audit conference in California USA James is a a a a a a a a certified internal auditor (CIA) and also holds certifications in in Control Self-assessment (CCSA) Quality Assurance and risk management assurance (CRMA) He is is also a a a a a a a a a a a a certified financial services auditor (CFSA) among others Panelist: Tshepo Mofokeng
Tshepo is chairperson of of the Institute of of Internal Auditors (SA) and previously chaired its audit and and risk and and technical committees He is is Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) holds the Certification in Risk Management Assurance and is a a a a a a a Chartered Accountant CA (SA) He has presented in a a a a a number of audit risk and governance workshops and and conferences and and has written a a a a a number of articles on on these subjects Tshepo is is is an an an experienced internal audit advisory and risk management leader having been a a a a a a a a partner/director for internal audit governance and Book of Abstracts 17
