Abstract
Agribusiness is the the cornerstone of the the Zimbabwean economy as most people survive on on on agricultural related activities and it it is regarded as the the the first step to fighting poverty among the the the rural population However the the the sector has not been performing well in in in terms of productivity due to to to various factors which include poor management of borrowed funds higher loan defaults and financial exclusion The study sought to assess the level of of financial financial financial knowledge financial financial financial behaviors and and financial financial financial attitudes of of agribusiness entrepreneurs and and to develop an an operationalisation model for improving financial literacy Pragmatism research philosophy guided this research research to use mixed mixed method method approaches and sequential mixed mixed method method research research design Quantitative data was first collected using a a a a a a a a a research questionnaire followed by interviews that were conducted to build upon quantitative results Multistage cluster sampling sampling and convenience sampling sampling was used to select research participants Research findings established that agribusiness entrepreneurs: (1) have low financial financial financial knowledge (2) exhibit poor financial financial financial behaviors (3) have good financial financial financial attitudes except for diverting a a a a a a a a portion of of business loans for personal use The general level of of financial literacy was very low among agribusiness entrepreneurs Hence the study recommended a a a a a a a a a financial literacy operationalisation model for for agribusiness entrepreneurs for for consideration by policy makers KEYWORDS: Financial literacy financial financial financial knowledge financial financial financial behavior financial financial financial attitude 68 7th International Conference on on on Governance and Accountability (ICGA) 2022
